Personally, I've never been more proud to be Nigerian than in the past few days. Yes we did it and in the most eccentric and unimaginable form. We've disappointed the numerous international media houses that had their cameras mounted and ready to cover the aftermath chaos. Giant of Africa we have indeed
been since March 28th. We have succeeded in clearly sending a strong message that the era of assurance of winning elections strictly based on "power of incumbency" rather than the will of the people is over. This message is as relevant to the incumbent president, the Nigerian politicians as it is to the President-elect of the federal republic. It is no longer business as usual. This is indeed strong message especially to the President-elect, General Mohammadu Buhari, that while we cannot guarantee that he will keep to his campaign promises, we do know one thing for sure, that four years is not so far away and that our votes will eventually count. Big congratulations to the Nigerian people, the president-elect General Mohammadu Buhari, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and of course President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for his stateman-like approach in conceding defeat and accepting the will of the people. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
